Illustrative Work
What started as a hobby in my spare time has grown into experience working with clients on published illustrations.
On Jackie Robinson Day 2024, I shared an original ink illustration of Robinson on Reddit.
The piece gained significant traction and caught the attention of author Matthew Johnson, who reached out to discuss featuring the artwork on the cover of his upcoming poetry book, Jackie Robinson's Real Gone.
After drafting a licensing agreement and negotiating the specifics, we finalized the partnership. The illustration is now set to appear on the cover of his poetry collection, scheduled for release in September 2026.
Below is the original drawing that will be part of the cover:
Following my collaboration with Matthew Johnson, I was put in touch with Scott Bolohan, Editor-in-Chief of The Twin Bill, a quarterly literary journal dedicated to baseball history.
I was tasked with creating an original illustration to accompany the poem 'When Heroes Walked the Earth' for their October 2025 issue. Working within a one-month deadline, I challenged myself through various ideas in Procreate (iPad Pro) to develop a piece that captured the poem's essence: a depiction of Mickey Mantle standing atop a baseball globe. The final work was featured in the journal’s World Series edition:
"We loved your illustration and are hoping you'll be up for more in the future. We talked about it on our podcast recording last night."
